Likely causes
- 1
Low transmission fluid level— Most likely
Check the fluid level cold and hot — some machines read differently. Use only CIH Hy-Tran Ultraction fluid or equivalent.
- 2
Worn pressure regulator valve— Possible
The regulator valve and its bore wear over time. Debris in the fluid accelerates wear. This is a workshop job — requires dropping the transmission sump.
- 3
Plugged transmission filter— Possible
A blocked internal filter starves the pressure regulator of flow. Change the transmission filter if overdue.
